The campus crime log is a weekly feature of The University Echo and is compiled from UTC Police reports to keep students aware of incidents on campus. Reports are listed in chronological order.



November 10, 2009

09-1568 An officer responded to a theft call that occurred at 645 Oak St.

A female student victim told police that she was in class at Bretske Hall and had sat her lime green incased Dell Latitude computer on the floor against the desk leg.

She then left class and made it to Lupton Library before she realized she had left her computer in the classroom.

When she returned it had been stolen by an unknown suspect. There is no suspect information at this time.



November 12, 2009

09-1577 An officer responded to a miscellaneous confiscated property call at 818 University St.

The resident assistant was doing a room inspection and found a defused World War II hand grenade.

The item belonged to a female student's boyfriend.

The hand grenade was confiscated for safety purposes.



09-1581 An officer responded to drug and narcotic offense at 818 University St.

Two resident assistants informed police that while performing scheduled room inspections marijuana had been found laying on the desk of a resident.

The student was not at his residence at the time of the discovery so police left the defendant a message that the marijuana, one glass pipe with marijuana in it and one cup with marijuana seeds had been found in his room.

Police advised the student to come to the UTC Police Department. He was cited in lieu of arrest at the time to Hamilton County Jail for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia



November 15, 2009

09-1593 An officer responded to liquor law violations at 818 University St.

Police initiated response on noise violations occurring in an apartment.

Upon contact with the suspects police found the defendants had consumed alcohol underage.

Both suspects admitted to having consumed alcohol and were cited in lieu of arrest for underage drinking. Both suspects have also been cited to UTC disciplinary affairs.
