One of Chattanooga's most revered haunted attractions, Rock City Forest of Fear at Voodoo Bayou, might spook your average "scardy-cat" and small children, but will do little to quicken the heartbeat of a haunted house junkie.

It is difficult to find haunted Halloween attractions that really frighten mass crowds. The element of surprise is without a doubt the culprit behind most fear experienced by the audience.

The Forest of Fear, however, is unique among the vast array of ghoulish woods, houses and caves offered.

Not only do zombies and creatures from your darkest childhood nightmares jump out into the audience along this half-mile stretch, they do so in 3-D.

At the beginning of the trail audience members are given a pair of 3-D glasses, The glasses are intended to be worn upon entering the trail, but if members so choose to put the glasses on early they can only expect more fun while weaving back and forth through the neon-lit waiting line.

Actors inside the attraction wear 3-D paint, and not only jump out at the audience, some actually appear to fly out into the crowd of shrieking guests.

Though the Forest of Fear will not send everyone screaming, it will most likely startle its victims into a tightly bound huddle, expelling a flurry of curse words followed shortly by fits of laughter.

The Forest of Fear is open every Friday and Saturday night, and tickets are available for $15.
