Men's golf takes week off after disappointing play in Golfweek tournament

The UTC men's golf team struggled to a 14th place finish at the PING/Golfweek Inivitational at Gold Mountain Golf Club outside Seattle, Wash. last weekend.
The Mocs, who hold the top spot in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings Index, shot a 314 (+26) in their final round to finish at 917, placing them just behind Colorado State but ahead of Indiana University.
No. 11 Oklahoma State finished in the top spot and posted a three round score of two-under par 862. The Cowboys also swept the top three medalist honors.
The No. 2 ranked Washington Huskies finished a distant second place, 22 shots off the lead at 884.
Mocs sophomore Stephan Jaegar, from Munich, Germany, led UTC and tied for 19th individually with a tournament total of seven-over par.
Seniors Fredrik Qvicker, of Stockholm, Sweden and Derek Rende of Soddy Daisy, Tenn. finished 49th and 51st, respectively
Acworth Ga. native and senior J.T. Clendenin came in 63rd while freshman Steven Fox, from Hendersonville, Tenn. finished tied for 70th.
The Mocs are off this weekend before returning to the course Oct. 10-12 at the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga.
