Three UTC football players swept the Southern Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday, following the Mocs' win over Presbyterian College.
Senior running back Bryan Fitzgerald, from Memphis, Tenn. was named Offensive Player of the week. He ran for a career-best 181 yards on 22 carries and finished with two touchdowns while helping the Mocs to their first road win in two years.
Fitzgerald recorded the first 100-yard rushing game by a Moc since 2007 and his 181 yards is the most rushing yards in a game since 2006.
Linebacker Ryan Consiglio was named Defensive Player of the Week following a 12-tackle effort against the Blue Hose.
The freshman from Franklin, Tenn. also snagged his first career interception on Presbyterian's first offensive play of the game while also picking up his first career sack.
He is second on the team with 25 tackles this season.
The Special Teams Player of the Week was given to Moc punter, Mike Hammons. Hammons, a sophomore from Benton, Tenn. didn't allow a return in four punts had an average of 41.8 yards per kick.
He also tied a career best with 51-yard boot and pinned the Blue Hose inside the 20-yard line with one of his kicks.
The Mocs have not had multiple Player of the Week honors since 1989, and have won five of the 12 awards given by the SoCon this season.
